Safer Facilities. Lower Risk. Stronger Operations.

Food Safe Assurance

Provide greater visibility into infrastructure conditions so facility teams can make informed decisions before small issues become larger problems.

Food and beverage facilities operate in demanding environments. Production, sanitation, traffic, temperature, moisture and everyday operations can gradually affect the physical condition of a facility.

Some concerns require immediate attention. Others can remain between maintenance priorities, operational demands and longer term planning.

For facilities looking to close that gap, JDL offers Food Safe Assurance, a customizable facility infrastructure assessment program aligned with the facility’s own priorities and risk thresholds.

The program is designed to complement existing facility maintenance, GMP programs, environmental monitoring, compliance requirements and applicable GFSI or other voluntary standards.

A Different Perspective on Your Facility

Food Safe Assurance is not another audit or compliance program. It provides an added layer of infrastructure visibility, identifying and tracking developing facility conditions while bringing higher-risk items forward for attention.

The approach works alongside facility maintenance, GMPs, environmental monitoring, and food safety and regulatory compliance without duplicating their purpose.

Food and beverage manufacturers already have numerous programs supporting their operations, yet physical infrastructure does not always fit neatly within one department or responsibility.

A condition that appears minor today may have implications for maintenance, operations, food safety or future capital requirements.

Food Safe Assurance helps keep these conditions visible so they can be considered before they become larger problems.

Adding Visibility Without Adding Complexity

Food Safe Assurance adds an infrastructure focused perspective to the programs already supporting your facility.

Facility Maintenance

Maintenance teams manage competing priorities, and production-related requirements often require immediate attention. Infrastructure needs can be deferred as more urgent work takes priority.

Food Safe Assurance helps keep these conditions visible. When further assistance is required, JDL has the experience and capabilities to support identified infrastructure needs.

Infrastructure Assessments

GMPs assess facility conditions through a food safety and compliance lens. Food Safe Assurance applies a construction lens, looking beyond the condition itself to consider what may be contributing to it and whether the surrounding infrastructure could be improved.

For example, repeated bollard damage may indicate the space, or traffic flow should be evaluated.

Environmental Monitoring

Environmental monitoring focuses on microbiological conditions within the production environment. Food Safe Assurance looks at the physical infrastructure supporting that environment through JDL’s construction lens.

For example, environmental monitoring may identify recurring microbiological activity near a drain. JDL may identify deterioration at the drain to floor transition that warrants further infrastructure evaluation.

Food Safety and Regulatory Compliance

Food Safe Assurance does not replace these programs or determine compliance. It helps identify developing infrastructure needs earlier, giving facility teams greater opportunity to plan, prioritize and address them before they become more costly or disruptive.

Different Roles. Different Perspectives.

Maintenance may see a repair.

Operations may see potential downtime.

Food Safety and QA may see a product concern.

Engineering may see an infrastructure requirement.

Leadership may see a future investment.

Food Safe Assurance helps bring these perspectives together around better facility information.

Better visibility supports better decisions.

Built Around Your Priorities

No two food and beverage facilities are the same.

Food Safe Assurance is customizable and aligned with your facility’s priorities, operating environment and risk thresholds.

The objective is simple: provide the infrastructure insight your team needs to identify priorities, plan ahead and make informed decisions.
